A new charity is being launched which offers British soldiers a radical treatment to reduce any mental health problems they may have.

With military personnel often experiencing horrific events while in action, it is no surprise that many develop of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in some form.

A well as causing depression and panic attacks, people with PTSD can suffer nightmares, and flashbacks.

The PTSD Resolution Project has been set up to provide a "new approach to military PTSD".

Following a successful pilot project last year on veterans from the Falklands War, a new therapy will be offered to anyone having served at least one day in the armed forces.

Practitioners will use relaxation techniques to allow patients to revisit their bad memories safely.

Director of the charity, Piers Bishop, said: "We offer radical, highly-focused treatment. We now consider it a humanitarian necessity to make it available to everyone who wants it.

"We have shown that we can end the nightmares for service and ex-service personnel."

Military personnel will have access to specially trained therapists across the UK.
